Q What order should I read the books in?
This southern romance series has been written so that each story is a standalone that wraps up with a happily ever after by The End. That said, if you want to read them in chronological order I suggest this

4.5 starsI'll be honest, I was predisposed to like this one less than the first because it's based on a big misunderstanding plotline, but the characters charmed me out of my grumpiness and it was so great to see Wishful again--I didn't even mind. This one was just as well-written and detailed as the first book. I especially liked Brody. He was just such a sweetheart of a hero. I'm hoping we find out who broke his boss's heart in Wishful and also Mitch gets his girl in future books. I do feel like I've committed a cardinal sin by not ever having seen White Christmas. (I know...don't hold it against me.) Great book--great characters--I was sad when I got to the end.
My favorite lines:
Piper crossed to the stereo, turned it on. After two bars of The Cure rolled out of the speakers, she stabbed it off again. “Oh honey, it’s worse than I thought."

Kait Nolan's new Wishful series promises to be a fun ride through the streets of a small Southern town. The first book centers around the upcoming performance of White Christmas at the local theater and the efforts to preserve the theater itself. The book has a faint echo of Kiss Me Kate as Tyler and Brody (Judy and Phil in the production) kiss and clash both on and off stage. Many of the supporting players in this book will get to shine as their own stories are told throughout the series. I can't wait.
I love Kait's shorter stories, both the Wishful series and the Meet Cute romances. They're perfect for when you have an hour or two to spare and want to dive into a sweet, heartwarming tale.
Not to say there isn't suspense!
Tyler and Brody in Be Careful, It's My Heart spar with the best of them -- and just when I thought their story was done (and I was getting all teary), there was an added twist!
This series has 4 books and I read them all. Each story was sweet .... brought tears to my eyes on multiple occasions. I am very impressed by the author's ability to create realistic characters and to exhibit such in-depth knowledge of their areas of expertise ... it speaks of her level of research and attention to detail. I will definitely be buying more of her books!
I enjoyed this story.
I would have liked to know more about Brody's history. It was very briefly hit on but not developed.
I also liked that the mean girl had a turn around, even though we don't know what caused it. It was nice to not end up hating someone.
I didn't feel like Tyler would have kicked Brody to the curb when she loved him so much. I think that was a bit contrived for the story. That was why I didn't rate it 5 stars.
If you are in the mood for a lighthearted story, then I suggest “Be Careful, It’s My Heart.”
This was a fun, quick read – but not so quick that it felt rushed. The characters were charming and the plot fun. Kait Nolan has a wonderful skill of writing tension. This kept me turning pages.
The town of Wishful, Mississippi is a great setting. I certainly hope Ms Nolan continues this series. My only critique is, I hoped for more atmosphere and mood from the small town setting – more physical description. I think I want this because I know I will love the scene Kait will paint.
If you’ve read any of the short novels from the Harlequin Kiss line of books, you will LOVE this title.
I’m eager to read more.

After reading the first Wishful Book I looked forward to diving into another but I didn't like this one quite as much. It was still a good read but there were times I wanted to slap both the main characters for assuming instead of just asking the other what was going on. I mean how many years can waste by assuming? Apparently, quite a few.
I'm kind of laughing at myself for being such a whiny pants here but , I don't like the cover.The facial expressions just don't match the characters in any way shape or form.
Does this mean I'll give up on the author? Of course not. There's too much I like about her style.
