I really enjoyed this new SciFi novel. This new authors first novel, and I hope not her last. It is a great epic and contains great action, romance and introductions to new worlds and new alien species. The anti hero makes a journey of self discovery to find out he has been fighting on the wrong side of the galactic wars for centuries.He finds adventure, love, true friendship on this journey through time and space. I highly recommend this new novel to fantasy and SciFi fans.
The author brings these characters to life and you become attached to them as if they were real beings. The worlds and aliens are full of life and imagination. Needless to say I am glad I bought this new novel. You will enjoy it.The Story of Death Kard: A Dark Hero's Journey

Good story
I was given this book to read by a friend who is a science fiction fan. I have read very little science fiction but I really enjoyed this book. From the first chapter it grabbed my attention and interest. The writers detailed description of surroundings and human and non-human characters were brought to life. It is exciting to follow Death Kard as he fights for the Galactic Rule and destroy the free planets and all non-human occupants and then change course to bring peace to the galaxy The computer Kila who is in love with Death Kard is an interesting aspect of this story. She comes to life from the first description of her duties and her concern for Death Kard. This is an exciting book and I would definitely
recommend it.
Science fiction with all the components of a very good story. My favorite was the humor L.E.Crane used that had me giggling out loud in several places. The book starts with the death of an aged emperor and then goes into the past to tell the story.
A cloned super warrior was made to help one race overcome another. Daryl Kard was born to fight and lead others to fight. He did his job well. After a major defeat that left most of his command dead, he asked to be frozen until a time when he could fight alone and win.
The story jumps ahead here, involving a romantic computer who helps him go back to war - you have to read it to believe it and Crane has made it believable.
Along the way, we are treated to very imaginable yet very creative ways for one man to do well on his quest to destroy whole worlds in his fanatical inbred desire to destroy all the foes of his kind. The author has created and described other species who Kard brings into his fight and you find yourself cheering for squid-like and other types to win along side him.
Love comes into play and the discovery that all is not as it seems in Kard's ordered life.
Death Kard is an adventure into the world of politics as well as one version of the future. It is a well written story that will keep you turning the pages to the end.
I am an avid Sci Fi and Fantasy fan. I enjoy movies, tv shows, novels, and short stories and the wide variety of storylines they provide. My timeframe spans from late 50's classic B movies to today's cinematic spectacles. With this in mind, I would recommend Ms. Crane's novel, The Story of Death Kard, A Dark Hero's Journey, to add to their reading list. I found it to be very entertaining and captivating. She has woven a story about superhuman strength, competing alien factions, subterfuge, AI, space travel, battles, honor and love and in a manner that pulls on your emotions as the story unfolds. I enjoyed the elements of the story that brought a large scale vision, often funny moments that had me laughing out loud, and more delicate moments about love and honor that had me teary-eyed at times. A very enjoyable novel and I look forward to her next one!

A wonderful engrossing book, it grabs you by the wrist and doesnt let go. as you follow along the life of the Amazing General Kard, in his fight for the Galactic Rule.
